If you’re like me, you don’t want to scrub any chemicals on any part of your body. I mean – who wants to spend money on something that can potentially harm you? I don’t – so that’s when I discovered the art of making scrubs.
Plus, just imagine how much money you’re going to save making body scrubs yourself! No more spending £12.50+ for popular brand name scrubs. No siree, it’s 2012 – the year to save money. Instead put your body scrub savings towards something else – like getting a new top or a nice facial.
You’ll be so soft and supple that you won’t need to put on much moisturizer afterwards. 🙂
Warning: The oils in this body scrub recipe will make your bathtub slippery – so be very careful!
Double Warning: Your husband or whoever shares your bathtub with you MAY get feisty if you use this since it makes the tub a bit “sticky.” LOL
Olive Oil and Brown Sugar Exfoliator
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil (you may not need all of the 1 cup)
- 10 drops essential oil (I like lavender, vanilla and lemon)
Get a bowl. Throw in the brown sugar. Slowly stir in the olive oil until the mixture is smooth. Add your essential oil(s) and voila! Place it into a pretty container and you’re set.
Some people don’t like smelling like olive oil, so you can use grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, or sweet almond oil.
